ManIPulate™ GETS THE THUMBS-UP FROM SASOLCorporate giant SASOL is the latest in a long and impressive list of clients to avail itself of the ManIPulate™ Intellectual Property (IP) Management System from Manipulate Systems. The software, which sees to the complete management of a company’s intellectual property portfolio, was upgraded at SASOL in September this year. Henrietta Coetzee, IP Portfolio Manager, SASOL, first became acquainted with ManIPulate™ in December 1998 as a beta tester, participating in the development of the software. SASOL subsequently bought two user licences, and the recent upgrade is their second, in a firm show of commitment to this groundbreaking software solution for the administration of its Trademark Portfolio. Henrietta describes the features that have proven most beneficial to her "All the information I need is always readily available, I can print whatever I need, whenever I need it. I can also create my own report formats, determining which information I want to include. In addition to that, our records are updated and maintained by our IP attorneys using compatible software, so updating our database is as simple as uploading the data from a disk supplied by them. A key feature of ManIPulate™ is a powerful query generator which, coupled with the ability to select predefined searches or specify custom searches, allows for simple and precise data retrieval. December will see the addition of financial information to SASOL’s ManIPulate™ solution, enabling the precise calculation of the cost of maintaining its trademarks, and assisting the company in budgeting for this expense.
