Mr. Philip G Santilhano established HAL 2000 Systems in 1991. During 1994 HAL was contracted to design and develop an intellectual property management system for The South African Breweries Limited. The project was a great success and resulted in Adams & Adams approaching HAL to look into developing an in house lawyers IP system. Development work on the IPPRO system began during 1996 and continues to this day. The original SAB program “Socrates” was converted into a commercial IP management package in 1998, during the same year Mr. Craig D Santilhano joined HAL 2000 Systems as the marketing and sales director to launch the commercial product into the market. During 1999 HAL 2000 SYSTEMS incorporated as HAL 9000 SYSTEMS (PTY) Ltd, and ManIPulate Systems (Pty) Ltd was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of HAL 9000 Systems (PTY) Ltd. The “Socrates” program was renamed “ManIPulate”. HAL 9000 Systems (PTY) Ltd and ManIPulate Systems (Pty) Ltd presently employ 4 permanent staff and 2 contract programmers. HAL 9000 SYSTEMS (PTY) Ltd is the development arm of the business with the IPPRO and ManIPulate™ solutions being the core projects at present. ManIPulate Systems (Pty) Ltd is the marketing company and deals primarily with the sales and service of the ManIPulate IP System. The ManIPulate™ IP Management System is now operating in 15 national and multinational companies, which include.
The ManIPulate™ Knowledge base solution is unique in the
South African environment as it allows the user the facilities to
import data directly from their IP Attorneys. The system also contains
